ScriptureWalk

Terms of Service

Effective date: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ScriptureWalk (“the App”), or by accessing the ScriptureWalk website at scripturewalkapp.com (“the Website”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App or Website.

2. Description of Service

ScriptureWalk is a GPS-powered scripture companion for Holy Land pilgrims. The App uses your device's GPS to detect proximity to biblical sites in Israel and surface relevant Bible passages. The App is designed to operate primarily offline, with all scripture and site data bundled locally.

3. License to Use

Eric Chance (“we,” “our,” or “us”) grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

4. GPS and Location Accuracy

ScriptureWalk relies on GPS satellite signals to determine your proximity to biblical sites. GPS accuracy varies based on device hardware, environmental conditions (buildings, terrain, weather), and satellite availability. We do not guarantee the accuracy of location detection or site proximity alerts. In particular:

  • Site boundaries are approximate and based on publicly available geographic data.
  • GPS signals may be degraded in dense urban areas, underground locations, and covered structures common in the Holy Land.
  • Do not rely on ScriptureWalk for navigation, safety, or emergency purposes. The App is a scripture companion, not a navigation tool. ScriptureWalk is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage incurred while visiting sites identified in the App. Always follow local safety guidelines and remain aware of your physical surroundings.

5. Scripture and Content Accuracy

ScriptureWalk includes Bible text from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), King James Version (KJV), World English Bible (WEB), and American Standard Version (ASV). While we strive for accuracy in scripture-to-site mappings and historical context, we do not warrant that all content is free from error.

ScriptureWalk is broadly Christian and does not represent any specific denomination, church, or theological tradition. Content is informational and devotional in nature and should not be considered authoritative theological guidance.

6. Intellectual Property

The ScriptureWalk name, logo, app design, site database, scripture-to-location mappings, trail routes, badge system, and original content are the intellectual property of Eric Chance. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from these materials without prior written permission.

Bible translations included in the App are used under their respective licenses. The BSB is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. The KJV, WEB, and ASV are in the public domain.

7. User Content

Journal entries, reflections, photos, and other content you create within the App (“User Content”) belong to you. All User Content is stored locally on your device. We do not access, collect, or claim any rights to your User Content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ScriptureWalk is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that GPS detection will be accurate at any particular location.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Eric Chance shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, reputation, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the App or Website, regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable.

In no event shall our total liability exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) zero dollars ($0.00).

10. Termination

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or Website at any time without notice. You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device, which also permanently removes all locally stored data.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App or Website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ScriptureWalk. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

14. Apple App Store Terms

These Terms are between you and Eric Chance only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.

Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
